Free iPhone-to-PC Video Transfer Without Cumulative Size or Count Limits
Does unlimited video transfer mean I can send any number of large MOV files without paying?
Short answer
There are at least four different ‘limits’: the app’s cumulative quota, the individual file system’s maximum file size, remaining disk space and network throughput. These should never be treated as the same thing.
There is no meaningful universal winner: a fast local file sender, a complete iPhone data manager and an encrypted remote photo sender address different needs. Compare the exact workflow you intend to use instead of relying on generic ‘best app’ rankings.
Which route should you choose?
- Check the destination drive format, especially for individual videos over FAT32’s per-file size limit.
- Check Windows free space and keep the receiving app open for the entire transfer.
- Use a smaller test video first and confirm full playback before sending a multi-gigabyte clip.
Where DropToPC is the better fit
DropToPC Free has no cumulative traffic or transfer-count cap and keeps original video quality. Local LAN transfers are free and fast, while cross-network Free speed is below Pro.
To try it, use the official DropToPC website to obtain the iPhone and Windows apps, open the receiver on your own PC and scan the displayed QR code from the iPhone app. Select a small test set; keep the sending app open during manual transfer. Free preserves original image and video quality and does not impose cumulative file-count or total-transfer-volume limits. LAN transfer is free and fast; cross-network Free operates at a speed below Pro. Pro adds higher-speed remote transfer and cross-network automatic backup.
How to test before committing your archive
Send a large video to an appropriate Windows file system, verify its duration and the last seconds of playback, then repeat for the next batch. An actual file check matters more than a preview thumbnail, advertised throughput claim or an unverified benchmark. The Windows destination must have space for the complete originals, and important files deserve a second independent backup.
Trade-off to keep in mind
An app cannot guarantee infinite bandwidth, unlimited cellular data or unlimited physical storage. Do not describe these independent constraints as absent.
If an original photo is stored only in iCloud rather than locally available on the iPhone, it may need downloading first. If a complete HEIC or HEVC file does not open on Windows, the receiving app or codec is a separate problem. These are not reasons to claim that any transfer tool magically repairs missing originals or codecs.

Want a dedicated wireless transfer from iPhone to Windows?
DropToPC uses QR-code pairing and supports Windows 10 and 11. Free transfers preserve original photo and video quality. On a local network, transfers are direct, fast and free with no cumulative volume or usage caps. Across different networks, the free tier still has no cumulative volume or usage cap, but operates at a lower speed than Pro. Pro adds higher-speed cross-network transfers and resumable, incremental automatic backup that can continue after a Windows restart and recognize newly captured, previously unsent photos.
